In 1977, Dusty Baker, a star player for the Los Angeles Dodgers, etched his name in history by hitting his 30th home run on the very last day of the season.
This remarkable achievement marked the first and only time in baseball history when a team boasted four players with 30 or more home runs in a single season.
As Dusty rounded third base and headed for home, his jubilant teammates welcomed him with their hands held high in celebration, and Dusty reciprocated by slapping their outstretched hands.
Little did they know that this spontaneous and joyful gesture would become the very first 'High Five,' a symbol of camaraderie and celebration in sports and in life.
